All treasures...big and small

Now that i've had a chance to unpack everything
and put some of it away I wanted to
show you all the treasures we
found while at the
Country Living Fair
and also while
thrifting....

Two very AWESOME Columns from a booth at
the Country Living Fair
I was beyond excited when the lady told me they
were part of her display but she had sold out of that item
and so she would sell them to me...for $25.00 each
Yippee!!!!

We found this old school map in an
antique store in downtown Newnan

Love this cabinet/bookcase we found at

Old Laundry Cart from Country Living Fair
Old Scale found while thrifting

Fabric and old sack from Country Living Fair
Ikea Sawhorse legs for my soon to be craft table
I found them by some stroke of luck while we were thrifting

An old school flashcard and little bird
A french school flashcard
Flashcards from CLFair
and bird from
The Vintage Flea

Old numbers from the CL Fair
and Nutcrackers found while thrifting....
because lord knows I needed more nutcrackers.
You will understand what I mean come
Christmas time...
I am of the firm opinion that she who
dies with the most Nutcrackers wins...
Just Kidding....
I'm really just completely OBSESSED with them.

Well there it is...all the treasures
that found their
way home to Florida

If you ever get the chance to attend one of the
 Country Living Fairs...

GO

It really is fun!

Country Living Fair

We are finally back from
the Country Living Fair....

What a great time!
I almost didn't want to come home

So many things to look at and sooooo many great ideas!
Plus, the weather was gorgeous.

Sorry for all the pictures but I have to share...

To bad this wouldn't fit in my car...it's awesome.
This was my favorite vender's booth...we loaded up!

I really wanted this wagon...wasn't in my budget though.
So I settled for a picture to remember it by...
hope it found a good home.

Everyone was so nice at the fair, the vendors, the staff
and the people you came in contact with.

Tomorrow i'll show you everything I found.
There wasn't an inch of space left in the back of the car!
Definitely a productive shopping weekend....

Does anyone know what this is???

Out garage selling this weekend
I found this....

The very nice lady I bought it from told me that it had come
out of Palm Beach and it was a
tree ring.

To be placed around the base of a tree and used for decoration.

I could see that on one hand but on the other???
 I'm not sure...

It does come apart, so I could see how it would fit around a tree.
But, it holds candles on the top of the flowers....
that would be a fire hazard around a tree I would think!

It has a drill/screw like thing coming out of
two of the flowers (one on each side).
So is that meant to bore into the tree?

But, see all the beautiful flowers, if you place that around the tree they won't be seen...
so shouldn't they be on the opposite side of the piece?
That's why I'm so confused as to what this might actually be.

I've tried to research it and i'm getting nowhere.

If anyone has a guess or knows what this is....
please tell me!

It's making me crazy not to know exactly what this is.

Raven Silhouette Tree

Never leave me alone with a brand new roll of double sided tape....

cause it got me thinking.....what could I use this for?????

And then it hit me!!!

I have a roll of black wrapping paper that I had bought after the holidays from Ikea

AND

i've been really wanting to do a silhouette tree with black birds for Halloween.

Lots of cutting and taping later.....
I'm very happy and so are the kids....
they think i'm the coolest mom ever!
At least for a little while,
but i'll take what I can get.

It's really spooky at night....

Hope you all are having as much fun as we are decorating for Halloween!

I'm linking up to

for a Silhouette Party

AND

 she is having a giveaway....

go over and join the party!!!!!

Nest Theme Baby Shower

I love baby showers...they are just so much fun to plan and host!

This weekend we held a baby shower at our house for my sister
who is expecting the most perfect little boy next month.

When I started the planning of this shower
the baby's name had not been
decided upon yet nor had the room decor.

So, I decided to go with a nest theme
with the blue and brown colors.
And let me tell you...I can beat a theme into the ground.
I'm sure by the time everyone went home they had
had enough of nests, the word nest, nest related foods.....
you get the point!

I'm going to apologize now for the long post and numerous pictures....but I can't help myself

Favors and Sign when you walk into the garden

Invitation

Table Setting

Appetizers

Salad under cloche with Parmesan nest and blueberries

The main dish was individual Chicken Pot Pies...
because why???
They look like a nest......
in hindsight however, trying to eat a hot pot pie outside
in the South Florida heat...not such a great idea.

Cupcake Tower
(do you realize how hard these things are to get out of the cupcake box without getting icing everywhere?)
Again hindsight is always 20/20....I would have done this totally different!
No yellow liners (I thought I could use the blue/brown ones I bought...nope wouldn't fit!
And the icing smeared on the liners...not my best move.
But hey....we were in the thick of the shower...lucky I was able to take a picture at all

Lavender sachet favors

Finally..
Last week they named the baby.....
Aidan

The flower bed was my favorite part of the shower....
because my very thoughtful husband surprised me with it.
He thought of it and bought all the stuff  and planted it!
I love that man!

Hurry up Baby Aidan and get here
we can't wait to meet you!!!

My First Giveaway!!!

I've really been wanting to do this for awhile now
but couldn't decide what would be cool enough to give away.

And then while shopping at Michael's craft store today
(imagine that)
they were restocking the section where I found the drawer knobs

So, I was thinking that you all might want a set too.........

There are six knobs.....
Open
Discover
Pull
The Key
The Chandelier
The Clock

Oh and the little journal with the bird cage on it.....
because it's just too cute and I couldn't resist buying one for you and one for me!

Just think of all the things you could make or use them for ....

 Wine Stoppers,
Attach them to a board
to hold...towels, hat, aprons, etc,
Dress up a drawer or cabinet door,
They are so awesome you could
just put them in a bowl for decoration
